Microblading Aftercare Guide
Thank you for choosing RiaBelle Beauty. Following these aftercare instructions carefully is essential to ensure the best possible healing and long-lasting results from your microblading treatment.
What to Expect After Treatment
-
Your brow area may feel tight, heavy, or tender, and a mild headache is common.
-
Redness and slight swelling may occur but will subside within a few hours to a few days.
-
The treated area will initially appear darker and more defined but will gradually lighten as it heals.
Immediate Aftercare
-
To reduce swelling, apply a clean, cool compress to the treated area (do not use ice directly on the skin).
-
Apply your provided soothing gel every evening until the area has fully healed.
-
Keep the area clean and free from all products except for the soothing gel.
Healing Guidelines
-
Avoid direct sunlight and sunbeds for at least 3 weeks. Once healed, apply SPF to the treated area to protect pigment retention.
-
Do not apply makeup to the brow area for at least 2 weeks.
-
Do not touch, rub, scratch, or pick the treated area. Scabbing is normal and will naturally protect your brows as they heal. Picking may cause scarring and pigment loss.
-
Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating, as this can disrupt healing and cause scabs to lift prematurely.
-
Do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours after your procedure.
-
Avoid swimming, steam rooms, or saunas for at least 2 weeks.
Healing Process
-
It is normal for 25–50% of the colour to fade during the first 10–20 days.
-
While the area may appear healed after 2 weeks, the skin is still in the healing process and will not be fully healed for 4–6 weeks.
-
Continue using your soothing gel until the brows have completely healed.
-
A top-up treatment is required within 4–6 weeks to perfect the results. Missing this appointment may lead to fading and will result in being charged the full price for a future session.
Important Notes
-
Although rare, excessive swelling or allergic reactions can occur.
-
If you experience excessive swelling, contact your GP.
-
If you experience difficulty breathing or swallowing, call 999 or go to A&E immediately.
Final Reminder
Do not ignore these aftercare instructions until the area has fully healed. Proper care is essential to achieve the best results and to protect the health of your brows.

-
Do not use saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or have facial massages.
-
Avoid tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds, or fake tan).

To prolong your results, avoid oil-based products and regular exfoliation around the brows.

-
Keep your brows completely dry – avoid water, steam, sweat, and sunbeds.
-
Avoid facial treatments or skincare procedures.
Ongoing Care

-
If you have purchased our recommended brow gel, apply it when brushing for longer-lasting results and added hold.
-
Be gentle when cleansing your face – avoid rubbing the brow area and always pat dry.
-
Avoid applying self-tanning products to the brow area for at least 48 hours.

Your brows may look slightly messy after sleeping – this is normal. Simply brush them back into position with a spoolie.
